Radec’s New Facility Under Construction
Radec’s new location is taking shape! Our showroom and retail space will provide a place to learn about eco-sensitive interior finishing products as well as how to improve Indoor Air Quality and water quality. The living, breathing facility will have products that you can see in use and buy at competitive prices. This unique space is scheduled to open in early 2008, so bookmark us—the launch date will be posted soon!

Radec Exhibits at BOMA’s Green Buildings Gala Reception
Andy Martiniello and Jennifer Urquhart attended and exhibited at BOMA’s Green Buildings Gala this year. The Green Buildings Gala is BOMA’s most prestigious event of the year, and celebrates buildings that have achieved GoGreen status as well as EARTH award winners. BOMA’s EARTH awards recognize excellence in environmentally sound office building management.

Radec Exhibits at Buildex Vancouver
The annual Buildex Vancouver tradeshow took place in February again this year. Radec was there – this time, with a bigger booth! Buildex gave Radec staff the chance to answer questions and connect with Builders, Developers and Property Managers, as well as the general public. Booth space was totally sold out this year, and attendance was up; the show was a great success!

Radec attends Air Conditioning Heating and Refrigeration (AHR) Expo in NY
The AHR Expo is sponsored by ASHRAE, the American Society for Heating Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers and the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute. Joseph Walters and Jennifer Urquhart attended this year’s Expo in New York. Many exhibitors were displaying new developments and technologies in the field. It was a great opportunity for Joe and Jennifer to explore possible ways to improve Radec services and expand on product lines. They also had the chance to attend informative talks about developments in the field.

Radec Awarded at Steril-Aire International Sales Conference
As a result of our tremendous successes and growth over the past year, Radec President Joe Walters was invited to speak on our innovative procedures for assessing Indoor Air Quality at Steril-Aire’s International Sales Conference in Las Vegas. The entire Radec team attended the conference this year, having the opportunity to learn about new innovations, different applications for the Steril-Aire products, and to meet other distributors from around the world who are working to bring better Indoor Air Quality to their customers with Steril-Aire’s UVC Emitters™. Radec was proud to receive an award acknowledging innovative assessment procedures.

Radec Participates in SFU’s Sustainability Festival
Radec was at the Sustainability Festival at SFU on October 11th, 2007. We were sharing information on sustainable building, and indoor air and water quality. This was a fabulous event attended by SFU students and staff as well as community members. We were excited to see so many people with a passion for learning about sustainable living, and to hear so many informed questions! Thanks to everyone who visited our booth!

Radec Becomes a Member of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC)
The Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) is a coalition of representatives from the design and building industry. The CaGBC is responsible for the development of LEED Canada. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a rating system that was developed in the United States and has been adapted by the CaGBC to consider building requirements unique to Canadian climates.

Radec Enrolls in the Built Green BC Program
On June 1st, Radec enrolled in the Built Green BC Program as a Product Supplier. Built Green BC is a rating system for green residential building. The program links with National Resources Canada's EnerGuide and includes an EnerGuide rating as part of its rating system. Built Green BC strives to educate the public about the value of building green.

On May 12th Radec (represented by Melissa Elton) became a member of the Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA). The VRCA is a valuable resource for businesses in the construction industry, offering ongoing education as well as information on current developments going on in the lower mainland. Radec Attends WQA AquaTech USA
On March 27-30, 2007, Radec President Joseph Walters and Managing Director Jennifer Urquhart attended the WQA's Aquatech USA Educational Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Florida to learn the up-and-coming science and technology behind clean, healthy drinking water. "This conference has been extremely informative. The Greater Vancouver Home Builders' Association (GVHBA) is a non-profit organization that represents the residential construction industry in Greater Vancouver. It is affiliated with both the Provincial and National Canadian Home Builders' Associations. Radec, represented by Jennifer Urquhart, is pleased to be part of this organization that liaises with local governments and housing groups, offers education, and acts as a valuable networking resource in the industry.

Radec Supports BC Lung Association
The Radec Air-Heads team raised $1393.00 for lung research by participating in the Climb the Wall event on February 18, 2007 in Vancouver. Participants climbed 48 flights of stairs at the Sheraton Wall Centre for this fun-filled event to help make a difference in the fight against lung cancer, asthma, emphysema, air pollution and tobacco. The Radec Air-Heads donned propeller beanies and flew to the top, getting quite a bit of attention along the way! Find out more about the event here:

Radec Becomes Member of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of British Columbia.
BOMA BC is the most prominent commercial real-estate industry association in BC. The association offers educational seminars and also runs the Go Green program which rates buildings for their low resource use, their consciousness of occupant health, and other standards associated with Green building practices.
